SCHMIDT COPELAND PARKER STEVENS APPROVED TO DESIGN BEACHWOOD SIGNATURE PARK AND COMMUNITY CENTER

Cleveland, Ohio - Schmidt Copeland Parker Stevens, architects, landscape architects, planners, have been approved by the City of Beachwood, Ohio to provide design services for the City's new 50 acre park and 45, 000 square foot Community Center Building to be located in the Shaker Boulevard Median.
The $13 million project includes development of a new Community Center Building with multipurpose spaces, community rooms, a children's center, teen activity space, older adult meeting room and the home for the Beachwood Arts Council.
The site will largely remain natural with sensitive integration of the main building, picnic shelters, parking and drives. Special features of the site development include several garden areas and a small outdoor amphitheater. Several miles of trails with Boardwalks will also be developed and key ecological features of the site (wetlands and plant life) will be protected and enhanced.
The design team consists of several local and nationally specialized consultants including, Schmidt Copeland Parker Stevens, Environmental Design Group, Akron, Cannon Design, Washington D.C., Isaac Lewin Associates, Bacik Karpinski Associates, Cini-Little Associates, Art & Science Lighting Design, Kapp & Associates, Nurturing Restorations, Commercial Aquatic Engineering, Minneapolis, MN, and EQuest Engineers.
